LIGA INTERNATIONAL: The Flying Doctors of Mercy
Liga was established in 1934 to bring medical care to the poor of the state of Sinaloa in central Mexico. On the first weekend of each month from October to June, airplanes arrive carrying volunteers who provide medical, chiropractic, dental and skilled surgical intervention of hundreds of needy patients who would not otherwise receive care.
